Is the Aeronca landing gear axle heat treated?

there is some debate in the books
if the axle is heat treated or not... One source says yes, another no.
Joe, are the axles from SAR heat treated?

I have looked at the Blue Prints for the gear axle and no they are not
heat-treated. It is made out of 1.5 inch X .120 wall 4130 tubing. There
were two methods of making this part. One was a swaged end where it
attaches at the top. The second was a fitting welded at the top. Hope
this answers some questions.
